(More customer reviews)I researched both XM and Sirius for some time before buying this unit. The XM radios seemed to be of better quality, but Sirius programming included more of the things I wanted to listen to. As I read buyer reviews of the various receivers on several sites, I was very disappointed with the problems that were reported. This XACT receiver was rated better than most, and I knew a co-worker that had one.
I have owned it for about a month now and I am very satisfied. I purchased both the vehicle package and the home package. The vehicle package was easy to install and reception is good. The suction cup stand that is supposed to attach to the window does not work as it is designed. I glued mine to the dashboard and it is fine. You may have to get creative.
I have used the home package most. I carry it from my office to home every day. I have found that I can find places at home where I get a great signal. Don't worry about finding a window, just experiment in different areas. At work I have to put the antennae outside, as it is a metal building, but there is plenty of cable to reach. I purchased a cheap toiletries bag and store everything in it for easy portability.
Future generations of these radios will hopefully be able to use a wireless antennae technology, but don't wait; satellite radio is far superior to FM.
