(More customer reviews)I thought I was a monophonic purist until seeing a Consumer Reports review that rated the sound quality of the Kloss Tivoli radio above even the Bose, Boston Acoustic, and Cambridge models providing it was hooked up to the satellite speaker. So for fifty bucks, why not? The speakers are on nightstands parallel with my head, so the sound is hardly balanced. On the other hand, it's kind of cool to hear a trombone coming from one side of the bed and an oboe from the other. So thumbs up on the extra speaker, though I'm not about to go crazy and install the Kloss sub-woofer underneath the bed. Not only is it over-priced but even without the sub-woofer the speakers, to my ears, are already bass-heavy. Maybe I'll reconsider if my cat stops purring and the prospect of a vibrating mattress suddenly seems attractive.
